Introduction

Hello world. This is Where I will documenting my progress in the course I am doing.
I am currently studying
CGA (Computer Games Art) at UCA hoping to improve my 3D modelling/animation skills and learn more about concept art.

Life drawing

Here are some more life drawing pictures I found around my house.

Design The Temple

We had to design a 3D model from a image.
This is the temple.

This is my end 3D model design, the only thing left to do is texture it however i don't i was really scared to text it because the tones of the textures we were giving to use were not the same colour as in the reference image.

This is the end result, I like it however I was rushing and because of that I missed a lot of details that I should have put it.

Life Drawing

More Life drawing, I still need to work on my time, I sketch to slow.

Game design work (Unity)

I used these to represent people in my game.

Game design work (Unity)

These are some random screen shots to show my Unity work. I've modeled everything inside of Autodesk Maya and then imported them in to Unity.

Design a tank

I was assigned to design a tank, so that it will help me with my view on perspective drawing.

This was by far the worst thing I've spent time doing while at university. I managed to finish it but it was really hard for me and i have no idea why. It did make me realize that I really need to work on my perspective drawing.

Turret

We designed a turret, only thing left to do is texture it.

Shadow drawings.

In class we watched a video on a guy talking about techniques on coming up with new characters designs and the person in the video showed a technique by turning the brush size to a thick size and then carve out a character using the rubber and light tones of the shade black.

I found it difficult at first and decided to take a break and do it later. while taking my break I came across a character from a game called League Of Legends called Yasuo and randomly decided to base the character to look something like him.

I came up with this character, the character is partly human, ghost and looks like a zombie. Because we couldn't draw details on the character I found it hard to show what was were and what things are on the body. I made the character cut in half so he had organs hanging out however it was floating around like a ghost.
I gave him thick shell armor and a thick monstrous arm he would use to hit people with.

I hate this idea when I started it but i really enjoyed it in the end.

Life Drawing

It's been a sort amount of time how ever my sketching skill have definitely improved over the years.
These were just two pictures from what i did that day on life drawing how ever it's a massive improvement from when I started .

Design a gun (3D and new)

Before drawing the gun I first designed a model, just to see what basic designs I could come up with and then see if I can draw my assignment using the 3D model as reference.
This was a basic Idea i was thinking about choosing, I was going to expand on it but I chose the crystal gun instead.

Design a gun

I had to design a futuristic gun, so I started with the research.
I found this extremely hard. I thought the gun was a basic shape but nope. I re-did my gun about 8 times and was never happy with the results.

After so many attempts I ended up with this gun, The idea was that this gun runs off of energy from crystals (the blue thing at the top is the crystal). The benefits of this gun was that you shoot beams using the energy of the crystal in the gun and the crystal would re-charger by itself if it was not in use.
You could also change the could of the beams if you change the crystal.

I finished colouring the gun and hated the design, after I had coloured it looked more like a toy gun you would buy for a kid... I really liked the conpect however I think my lack of painting skill ruined the gun design.

Life drawing

Trying out new methods of drawing.

Work on tentacles

I had to design a creature with tentacles so I researched into it and found some "interesting" things...

After my research I picked a few pictures that I liked and decided that I wanted my creature to look like something they would only see in their dream. I kept thing of a scenario of a scuba under water and thinking what would be the worst thing for him to turn around and see.
I came up with this basic design, I was thinking and adding a lot more detail onto it but then I thought, it would look a lot more scary if it was slightly transparent (looking like a ghost under water).
So i came up with this design and like it. Over all I think I could have drawn it better but I like the idea of the creature.

Chair and Table (3D work)

I have to design a chair and table, I edited mine to be a bit different then what we followed in the tutorial.

Robot

At the beginning of the course we had to design a robot. I had no experience in this so I had to research on robots.
After spending so time on it I decided that I wanted to design a robot that had the form of a human.(Androids)

I decided that I was going to base my design from a robot I remembered watching when I was young. (Power ranger Turbo - The blue Senturion).
This is what I came out with.

Life Drawing

This was a sketch we did in life drawing, i'm not to happy with the outcome however i added it in because it was the first time I had drawn from this perspective. I found it really hard and had to start over 2 times before the time to finished the picture was up.

Mutated Caterpillar

Here's a picture of a mutated caterpillar which looks like a warrior. When I did this I didn't really understand how to paint using the computer and started placing layers on top of layers. In the end I'm happy with the result.

Scene for my Game Concept

Using reference from a picture I took walking back from Uni.
